USC STUDENT INNOVATORS! Win Cash for your IDEA!

Are you a student with an idea that could change the world? Then this is your time to shine.

The USC Stevens Institute for Innovation is hosting the 2009 USC Student Innovator Showcase and Competition during Trojan Parents Weekend on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 11-2 pm in the Von Kleinsmid Center Courtyard (VKC).

The 2009 USC Student Innovator Showcase gives students from all corners of the university – from interactive media to public policy, education to engineering, to engineering and the environment – the opportunity to showcase breakthrough ideas. Every year, hundreds of students from all over campus participate in this highly interactive, visually engaging showcase. Check out what the creative minds of USC students displayed in 2008 and the LA Times coverage of the 2007 showcase.

THIS YEAR, INNOVATORS COMPETE TO WIN $1500 IN CASH AND CUSTOM SKATEBOARDS!

The annual USC Student Innovator Showcase is a first glimpse at some of the most compelling innovators of the future: 2007 winners, thatgamecompany, an independent game studio founded by alums from USC’s Cinematic Arts School, went on to secure a three-game deal with Sony Playstation 3, and critical acclaim for their unique brand of games. In 2008, global non-profit Project:Possibility, a non-profit, open source software collaborative for the disabled from USC Marshall School of Business and Viterbi School of Engineering has successfully hosted several ‘Code for a Cause’ code-a-thons, been named a finalist in the Social Innovation Fast Pitch and has been featured in the NY Times.

If you are a USC student with research or a project you would like to present, we want to hear from you! Student innovators from all disciplines are encouraged to apply! Students may present work in a variety of ways, such as through poster/panel sessions, art exhibits, and electronic media. Students who competed last year are eligible to compete again.
