New option for a week on Catalina Island
Three weeks are left for students to the register for Alternative Spring Breaks offered by the USC Volunteer Center. A new trip this year is a weeklong project at the USC campus on Catalina Island. Students will stay at the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center and help build new trails and plant a garden with native vegetation. When the work is done, volunteers can snorkel in the marine reserve and paddle kayaks at sunset.
The trip is scheduled for next March, and registration is open until Friday, October 23. If you're interested, call Liz Kenigsberg at the USC Volunteer Center at (213) 740-7012.
