Occupational Therapy at USC

Dear Students,

I was an undergraduate at USC and studied Creative Writing and Neuroscience, graduating in 2007. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at USC, which is a health care profession that helps people to redesign their lives to maximize their physical, spiritual, and emotional health through their activities or “occupations.”

USC has one of the top OT programs in the country. One great way for you to learn more about the profession of occupational therapy is by taking one of our introductory courses: OT 250 (4 units) or OT 220 (2 units). These courses help students to develop an ideal routine and create a healthy living environment to maximize success in college. Another great 2 unit course that students enjoy is OT 310: Creativity Workshop which helps students to develop their creative skills in a variety of ways. I have included a pamphlet discussing our minor courses for undergraduates, which are great additions to any degree program at USC.

I also want to make you aware of the Lifestyle Redesign for the College Student program here at USC, one of the programs I work with at the OT Faculty Practice. We work with students who have difficulty with time management, procrastination, and stress management. This program is a resource that is covered through USC Student Health insurance. You can contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment if you'd like!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Sincerely,
Myka Winder, BA, OTS myka.winder@usc.edu
