On this occasion it is fitting that we devote our attention to “Leading the Charge: Promoting Diversity the Health Professions”. This important topic represents an area that we must explore if we are to follow a future course that is brilliant, optimistic, and beneficial to students. We are fortunate to have invited some faculty members who are experts in their field and are also nationally renowned for their scholarly contributions to the health professions. I hope that you will join us so that we can continue to network and learn more about issues that we face daily. We will also conduct a student development program that will provide you an opportunity to meet some outstanding students from surrounding high schools and colleges in the Phoenix area. As you know, this part of Arizona is very diverse and home to such outstanding community colleges and universities, such as Maricopa Community College, Phoenix College and of course ASU.
We are truly excited about the conference and hope that you can join us when we meet in April. We are also offering $55.00 off a NEW WRNAMME membership to the first 10 people! Please indicate on the form that you are a NEW member.
Thank you,
Estella

A little bit more about NAMME mission and Vision:
Mission: NAMME is a national organization dedicated to developing and sustaining productive relationships as well as action-
oriented programs among national, state, and community stakeholders working to ensure racial and ethnic diversity
in all of the health professions. NAMME also seeks to provide critical guidance and professional development
opportunities for individuals dedicated to these efforts and the students they serve.
Vision: NAMME visualizes itself as the lead organization in providing informational resources, training and advocacy to
stakeholders working to insure diversity in the health professions. Our efforts will serve as a foundation to strengthen
academic preparation and access to health professions education for individuals who are members of historically
underrepresented groups, and those who are economically and/or educationally disadvantaged. NAMME expects its
efforts to ultimately contribute to the reduction of health disparities wherever they exist and to reduce the incidence of
poor health outcomes among the underserved.
