Hospital - ships and Scholarships!

Come hear this week's GUEST SPEAKER-- a captain from the Navy coming to give us a brief on how the Navy hospital ship has contributed to relief efforts in Haiti. In addition, she will discuss different ways to pay for medical school, and even provide insider tips about how to get scholarships or even go to med school for FREE!

USC's Pre-med APAMSA (Asian-Pacific American Medical Student Association) is a new organization on campus providing pre-medical students the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in the medical field through direct connections with USC's Keck School of Medicine.

One of our most unique opportunities is SHADOWING A MEDICAL STUDENT at Keck, then sitting down for lunch and discussing life in medical school as well as the application process. What better way to figure out if medical school is right for you?

Our VOLUNTEER efforts focus on health issues within the Asian-Pacific American community, including Hepatitis B and bone marrow initiatives. We also respect the unique cultural component in the Asian community and provide an opportunity to learn about integrative medicine and acupressure while considering the effects of cultural practice on medical ethics.

LEADERSHIP opportunities are available as well.

Join us for our next meeting on Monday, February 22 at 6 pm in VKC 108.

See you soon!
