Would you like to participate in language study (35‑45 minutes, receive
$10)?
The USC Language Processing Lab is looking for native speakers of
American English (18 years of age or older) who would like to
participate in a new research study on language processing. The study
takes about 35‑45 minutes, and participants will be compensated for
their time ($10). The study is conducted on the USC campus, and
participants can arrange to come at a time that is most convenient for
them. (We usually ask participants to sign up for slots beginning on the
hour.) This is a new study, so even if you have participated in other
studies in the lab, you are welcome to do this one as well.
Some possible times for this week are provided below:
Monday March 8, 10‑11:45am, 3‑7pm
Tue March 9‑12noon, 5‑8pm
Wed, March 10, 9‑11am, 12‑2pm, 3‑5pm
Thurs, March 11, 10‑11am, 6‑8pm
Friday, March 12, 10am‑2pm
If you volunteer, you would be asked to do simple language‑related tasks
(e.g. read sentences and answer questions about them; this study does
not involve eye‑tracking.) This study aims to improve our understanding
of how people use and understand language. Participation is voluntary.
Participating or not participating has no effect on a student's grades.
Please email me if you have any questions or if you would like to sign
up for a time‑slot!
Thank you,
