Because of the large number of individuals who were unable to make the application collection date last Friday, we have extended the deadline for Phi Sigma Associate and Full Member Applications to Friday, March 5th. You do not have to be a major in biology to apply; applicants need only to display a keen interest in the biological sciences and high academic achievement. We will be collecting the applications at two times: Thursday, March 4th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM and Friday, March 5th from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the lobby of GFS. See below for details.

Throughout the year, the USC branch of the nationally recognized Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honors Society hosts speakers and events designed to promote an interest in the biological sciences and provide you with resources to further your career as an undergraduate. Members are expected to attend meetings and the Annual End of the Year Banquet and Initiation.
For Freshmen/Sophomores:
Current Freshmen and Sophomores are eligible for associate membership. To become an associate member, you must fill out the appropriate attached application, print it out, and bring it with $30 either exact cash or check (made out to USC Phi Sigma) to one of the collection times mentioned above. The $30 fee is a one time fee (with exception of the one time intiation junior/senior fee). Applicants are required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Please email us if you cannot make the collection time, and we will accommodate your schedule.
For Juniors/Seniors:
Current Juniors and Seniors are eligible for active, full membership, and applicants are required to have a minimum 3.2 GPA. To become an active, full member, you must email us for the application, fill it out, and bring it along with $50 (cash or check made out to USC Phi Sigma) to one of the collection times mentioned above. The $50 fee is a one time fee. For this one-time-only initiation fee, you will receive a membership document suitable for framing (embossed with the Phi Sigma seal, including your name lettered in calligraphy) from the National Headquarters, a Phi Sigma pin, a one-year subscription to Bioscience, and inclusion in our national database. Initiation into The Phi Sigma society is a lifetime membership and acknowledgement of superior achievement in the biological sciences.
