"Computational Problems in Barley Genomics"

Abstract:

I will discuss a few selected computational problems identified during our longstanding collaboration with Professor T. Close and his lab in the context of the barley genome project. Specifically, I will discuss recent results on the problem of oligo design, assembly of physical maps, construction of genetic maps, and propose a novel approach to sequence large genomes like the one of barley.
