SIC at USC: Fight HIV in Tanzania Info Session

Thursday, December 2, 7:00pm – VKC 107

Great news! If you are interested in making a difference by fighting HIV in Africa, apply for SIC's summer or fall volunteer programs! Find out more at our info session.  Coffee and cookies will be served!

Support for International Change allows students to make a difference in Tanzania by promoting HIV awareness and prevention. In Tanzania, the HIV prevalence rate is 7-8% and in some areas as high as 20%. Education in underserved communities such as Tanzanian's rural areas is desperately needed to combat this epidemic.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Spend 8 - 12 weeks living in a Tanzanian community
  • Teach about HIV/AIDS prevention to students and adults in the community
  • Promote HIV/AIDS testing and counseling

All years and majors can apply. Volunteers should be open-minded, adventurous, and especially passionate to make change! You can find the application at www.sichange.org. Program dates are May 20th - July 15th and Sept. 22rd - Dec. 15th.

For more information, email usc@sichange.org with any questions! The deadline to apply is January 21st.
