The Humane Studies Fellowship supports students planning academic careers with liberty-advancing research interests. Awards range from $2,000 to $15,000, and during 2010 we awarded a total of more than $650,000 to 180 students studying around the world.
Awards are for one year, and winners can reapply in subsequent years. For example, Hovannes Abramyan at UCLA received three fellowships between 2008 and 2010 and Gwendoline Alphonso at Cornell University received three awards between 2007 and 2009.
Applicants are evaluated by their research interests and likelihood for academic success. Participation in student groups and entrepreneurial approaches to teaching others about individual rights are also valued by our review committee.
With the December 31 deadline just around the corner, please pass on this fellowship opportunity to your students. If you would like additional information or have a question, please email us at HSF@theihs.org.
Cheers!
