Southland Pre-Health Conference

Do you think you know how to get into medical school? How would you respond to the question, “Why do you want to be a doctor?” How about a pharmacist? A physical therapist? A medical administrator? If you find yourself hard-pressed for an answer, we have just the right people to connect you with!

The Pre-Med Honor Society (AED) presents the 45th Annual Southland Pre-Health Conference: an event aimed at getting you in touch with the people who know the answers to these questions…

From 9:15am – 3:00pm (or anytime in between) on Sunday, February 6th, 2011, come to the totally NEW! Ronald Tutor Center Ballroom on the USC campus (in the basement of the new student center – not the building with the food court…the other one) to interact with several important leaders from all realms of the health professions, in addition to a medical student panel run by former USC undergraduate students who have been in your shoes and are now at USC, UCLA, and UCI medical schools.

We are extremely privileged to have Dr. Steven Ryan, former dean of USC Keck School of Medicine, as this year’s keynote speaker.

Join our Facebook event for additional information.

And the best part about this conference is…it’s all completely FREE! What’s more, there will be FREE BREAKFAST and LUNCH provided by Togo’s Sandwiches and other outside vendors.

Wait, there’s more free stuff?! Exam Krackers, Princeton Review, and Kaplan will be there, and if you’re lucky, you could win a raffle for some major discounts/partial scholarships for MCAT test prep courses!  (These courses cost $2000 in value, so this could be a great thing!)

Attire is business casual. This is a professional event; we want you looking sharp!

Look on the Facebook group for the complete schedule; here is a list of some of the speakers:

  • Stephen J. Ryan, M.D. – Former Dean of Keck School of Medicine, Current President of Doheny Eye Institute
