Consulting Internship:
The Consulting Services Division leverages COPE’s core operational competencies to assist clients assess and plan for health care delivery realities. Consulting is rapidly increasing its breadth of services to support company operations and client engagements across California.
Division Objectives:
- Support the development and implementation of new contracts.
- Conduct independent consulting engagements related to:
o Strategic planning
o Decision support
o Project management
o Data analysis and geo-spatial mapping
Care Management Internship:
The core services of Care Management include:
- Provide an opportunity to increase access to and coordination of care for patients who are frequent users of health services by:
o Empowering patients to manage their chronic illnesses effectively
o Implementing best practices to reduce disparities in care within the health system by ensuring appropriate and timely access to services for specific populations.
- The Care Management program drives effective use of the health care system in order to improve health outcomes and achieve cost-savings strategic planning with:
o Utilization Assessment
o Program Enrollment and Assignment of Primary Care Homes
o Provision of Intensive Care Management
o Transition of Patients to Lower Levels of Care
Health Services Integration Internship:
Health Systems Integration (HSI) is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management and replication of innovative health care access and delivery solutions.
The division’s objectives are:
- Develop and implement health care coordination and resource management solutions for complex safety net health care systems
- Improve the coordination of care and communication between hospitals, outpatient specialty care and primary care community clinics
- Collaborate with community partners to implement clinical care best practices that are anchored by a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to care management
- Develop and implement systems to provide coordination of primary care and specialty care health services
- Enable clients to achieve system efficiency and effective use of resources

INTERNSHIP #2:
Boston Scientific Neuromodulation is recruiting two internships this summer located in the Valencia office of Boston Scientific. The internships will be working the Product Marketing teams here locally.
Below is a little more information regarding the two internships:
1. PROJECT Description
The intern project is intended to perform user testing and/or other analyses for an advanced networked telemedicine system in order to help us optimize feature sets and determine the components that will drive this disruptive technology to best serve our customers. Customer interviews; strategic assessments; development group interaction; and executive level presentations will be components of this project.
2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Lead cross-functional team to develop a market model for Pain franchise including most common pain etiologies (prevalence, incidence), percentage of patients refractory to existing treatments and potential candidates for spinal cord stimulation therapy. Use market model to identify, better characterize, and prioritize key market segments and as a forecasting tool for overall pain stimulation space.
