New tuition credit for high GPA students with multiple programs

Dear Academic Advisors:

I'm writing to inform you of a new tuition credit available to students beginning in the Fall 2010 semester. This credit, called the USC Academic Achievement Award, is available to students who (i) have completed at least 32.0 units, including AP and transfer work; (ii) have earned a USC GPA of at least 3.750 on the completion of at least 12.0 USC units; and (iii) are pursuing multiple programs (major and minor, double major, or double degree).

The credit will allow these students to enroll in up to 20 units (or 21 units in exceptional cases) at the standard tuition rate. The multiple programs need not be in widely separated fields.

The Academic Achievement Award requires completing a separate online form to establish eligibility for each semester it is to be used. Complete details are available at http://undergrad.usc.edu/renaissance/achievement_award.html.

Students with a current USC GPA of at least 3.700 are being informed of the program by email. I would appreciate your sharing information on the program with any student who may be interested.

Best regards,

Gene Bickers

Vice Provost for Undergraduate Programs
