Additional Info:
It’s a 499 and not officially available for freshmen or sophomore, however if we meet with
a student and think they have enough interest, motivation, basics or a combination of… we
will help them to register via a waiver.
Eligible students can go and directly sign up, no interview etc… required.
The course costs of $1077 include room and board plus $200 lab fee. The SURF fellowship is up to
$3000 and can be put against the tuition ($5000). I am currently getting more info on the SURF
fellowship and will send out another email to the students that have shown interest (I make sure
I copy you so you have some answers also) – Since the instructors are an important integrative
part of the fellowship application, I need to talk to the PWP organizers about criteria and specifics.
The SURF applications cannot be submitted prior to May 1st so there is no hurry….
Course schedule: Mo – Fri with weekends free; The students will have plenty of opportunity to
catch free Wrigley boats from and to the island if they decide they want to go back to the mainland
for the weekends. Obviously the island is great for kayaking, snorkeling, diving (if certified and
they check with diving personnel on the island), hiking….etc if they want to stay.
