Plot Synopsis: It was July 1st 1997. Hong Kong citizens have been waiting for this day. It was the time the British handed back Hong Kong to China. Some citizens were afraid; would their freedom of right and speech be gone? Would the new politic system of two systems one country work? Some feared it wouldn’t.
Such was the case of Jasmine and her family. They head for the city of fame – Los Angeles, United States.
Jasmine, a native Hong Kong girl, thought she had everything and knew everything about the world. The word Chinese seemed so distant to her; she’d always thought of herself as just like any other person on earth, until she experienced her first culture shock.
What adventures does she encounter in Los Angeles? How in the end is she able to cope with the new people and its culture? Does romance bloom in her way in her story? Come join her and discover a life of entertainment, excitement, and fun in this year’s Chinese American Student Association’s 11th Culture Show.
Guest Performers include: Traditional Chinese Dance, Chaotic 3 and the Trojan Men
