Dear USC College Graduate,
Congratulations on your academic achievements! You are eligible to graduate with an honor cord.
USC College is providing you a free honor cord to be worn with your cap and gown on Commencement Day. The cord is also yours to keep after graduation!
Please pick up an honor cord at your convenience, at the College Dean's Office in CAS-200, on weekdays between 9 AM and 4:30 PM. Please bring your USC Card or other picture ID. The last day to pick-up is Thursday, May 13.
To qualify for an honor cord, a student must be eligible to graduate after completing the current semester (requiring no additional classes after walking in the ceremony) and have at least a 3.50 University GPA at the beginning of the Spring 2010 semester. Final semester (Spring 2010) grades are not taken into consideration when awarding honor cords, because final semester grades are not published until after graduation. Grade point calculation is truncated, not rounded. Honor cords are NOT the same as a "cum laude" designation on your diploma, and will not necessarily correspond with an honors designation on your transcript or diploma.
Sincerely,
USC College
