Campus and CommunityUnited Meeting 6:00 PM, VKC 203

We invite you to Campus and Community United’s (CCU) second general meeting this Tuesday at 6:00 PM, VKC 203.
Here you will learn how to get plugged into USC’s first cross-discipline and multicultural coalition to promote neighborhood opportunity and pursue Los Angeles’ first bottom-up community plan with local grassroots community leaders and residents.
  • CCU advocates for increased opportunity in the neighborhood.
We recognize the linked fate between the campus and the community and the current unequal landscape of opportunity that exists in the city, whether seen in terms of inequitable job, transit, or educational opportunities.
  • Now is a key time to get involved.
The election of an urban president, the creation of the office of Urban affairs, and USC's Master Plan all point to a renewed focus on our cities. We, as students and faculty on campus, with local community leaders and residents, seek to take responsibility for our neighborhood.
  • CCU seeks movement toward proven metropolitan strategies.
We urge the implementation of environmentally sustainable and innovative metropolitan strategies shown to promote economic mobility, freedom, and improved public health. These strategies encourage individual and social responsibility to strengthen our communities and cities for the future. Together, we can achieve national leadership to bring community partnerships to a new level and democratically and sustainably promote opportunity for all.
