Children’s Hospital Los Angeles – Research Intern (2 Openings)

The Vision Center at Childrens Hospital houses an extensive research program, including treatment trials, epidemiologic studies and retrospective case studies. Our commitment to research in the Eye Birth Defects Institute has led to the development of new knowledge about optic nerve hypoplasia, hypopituitarism, septo-optic dysplasia and other epidemic conditions. We are conducting the largest clinical study in the world to determine outcomes and risk factors involved with optic nerve hypoplasia. We currently have seven studies on optic nerve hypoplasia with topics ranging from prenatal risk factors to autism to endocrinopathies. We have an exciting opportunity for a research intern to assist in the following areas: Creation of study documents; Maintence of study regulatory documents; Enter data using the electronic database system (liquid office); Assemble case report form files. Candidates will also have the opportunity to attend research meetings and trainings. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, interest in the medical and/or research field.
